"Scent profile" or "scent notes" refer to the different smells and aromas in a candle. It's like musical notes in a song that come together to create a specific fragrance. The profile gives you an idea of the ingredients that make up the scent. Fragrances have three main note types: top notes, which are light and refreshing; middle notes, which are the main body of the fragrance; and base notes, which are deep and long-lasting. These notes combine to create a multi-layered fragrance experience that evolves over time.

If your soy wax candle looks bumpy and rough at the top after you've burned it, don't worry! It's actually something called "frosting," and it's quite normal for soy wax candles. Frosting happens when the wax cools down and forms little crystals on the surface, giving it a frosty appearance. It's like when frost forms on a window during winter. Frosting is just a cosmetic thing and doesn't affect how your candle smells or works. So, even though it might look a bit different, your candle is still perfectly fine and ready to use again!

To prevent tunnelling in your candle, make sure to achieve a full melt pool by burning it for an hour per inch of its diameter. Avoid short burn times and trim the wick to ¼ inch before each use to maintain an even flame. Keep the candle away from drafts, as they can disrupt the burning process. Finally, use a candle snuffer instead of blowing out the flame to prevent the wick from shifting. These practices will help ensure a more even and longer-lasting burn for your candle.
